I want to say that just because the horizon rises it doesn’t mean that it’s rising above any curvature. IMO it’s actually causes a blockage of what is visible. I’d also like to say that these water bands are causing a ramping up effect. Visualize multiple mirrors set on an angle that are spread miles apart in intervales that causes this ramping up effect. When there is major mirroring occuring it causes boat to vanish into its own reflection.
