Underlit clouds from the direct light of the sun? I think not and you can see this in many of my own sun departure videos. IMHO it’s not different gases in the atmosphere that causes the colours in the sky otherwise we’d see the entire sky changing colours.
It may appear to be direct sunlight just like it appears the sun is going beyond a curve but in reality no curve is required to make something appear to go beyond a curve.
